He was born Dec. 30, 1930, in Etowah, to the late James and Isabell Hall. He married Virginia Moberg on June 5, 1954, in Pequot Lakes. He served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Morocco, Africa. During his time in the Navy, he traveled throughout much of the world before retiring in 1974. After retirement, he farmed in the Pequot Lakes, Minn., area. He served on the Crow Wing County Minnesota Soil and Water Conservation Committee, Pequot Lakes School Board and the building committee at Our Savior\'s Lutheran Church. He received a conservation award for planting a vast number of trees. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed his annual deer hunt with his many friends. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, with a great interest in family genealogy. He was preceded in death by his brother, Cleon; two half-brothers, Charles and Holdy; one sister, Ellen Price; and one daughter, Cynthia Mose. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Virginia; one daughter, Cheri Darden of Pequot Lakes, Minn.; two brothers, John Hall of Georgia, and Dan Watson of Florida; two sisters, Mary Dalton of South Carolina, and Maggie Knox of Georgia; and two grandchildren, Tiffany Darden and Brent Mose. Funeral services were 4 p.m. Thursday at Our Savior\'s Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes, Minn., with the Rev. Dr. David Stevens officiating. Burial followed in Our Savior\'s Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kline Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Kline Funeral Home of Pequot Lakes, Minn., was in charge of arrangements.
