Betty Sue Davis Crisp

Betty Sue Davis Crisp, 79, of Athens, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

She was a longtime resident of McMinn County and was a former employee of the McMinn County Courthouse and Tennessee Wesleyan College. A daughter of the late Clarence and Beulah Crowder Davis, she was preceded in death by one son, LaBron Crisp; one sister, Ella Mae Cole; and three brothers, Harlin, Harvey and Jim Davis.

Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Seleta Darlene Warden and husband, Marty, of Phenix City, Ala., and Betty Jean Tyndall and Vicky Knox, both of Athens; one sister, Hazel Davis of Etowah; one brother, Clarence Davis Jr. of Tellico Plains; eight grandchildren, Donnie Crisp, Chad Crisp, Wayne Campbell, Crystal Harkins, Bethany Britton, Lydia Wells, Sarah Ottinger and Branden Tyndall; 19 great-grandchildren; and her former husband of 45 years, Clyde Crisp of Athens.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ziegler Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Coleman officiating. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Piney Grove Cemetery in Tellico Plains.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Campbell, Donnie Crisp, Chad Crisp, Paul Harkins, Ryan Ottinger and Deric Britton.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
